Schneider Electric becomes official energy partner to McLaren Racing

Schneider Electric became the Official Energy Technology Partner of McLaren Racing, covering the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team, the Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team, McLaren F1 Academy and the McLaren United Autosports WEC Hypercar Team, a relationship presented as providing energy technology support for peak performance in demanding environments.

The agreement built on a supplier relationship that spanned more than 20 years and referenced a shared culture rooted in data intelligence and engineering excellence.

The organizations outlined technical priorities that included delivering robust power solutions at race circuits and at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, deploying resilient systems, enabling electrification through advanced energy technologies, and applying digital twin technology to generate data insights intended to enhance efficiency and sustainability.

The companies described the scope of work as including optimization of existing assets in and around the wind tunnel, manufacturing facilities, data centers and beyond, and noted resilient systems and electrification among the approaches to reduce energy consumption; Schneider Electric’s portfolio was presented as including intelligent devices, software-defined architectures, AI-powered systems, digital services and expert advisory.

Zak Brown said: “We’re proud to welcome Schneider Electric as our Official Energy Technology Partner. This partnership builds on a strong foundation and reflects our shared commitment to innovation and energy efficiency. By combining Schneider’s expertise in energy technology with McLaren’s pursuit of performance, we’ll explore new ways to make our operations smarter and more efficient.” Olivier Blum said: “Racing is one of the most challenging environments to demonstrate the value of advanced energy and digital technology. McLaren Racing pushes every system to its limits, which is exactly where our expertise in performance, reliability, and efficiency makes the difference. We’re proud to become the Official Energy Tech Partner of McLaren, providing energy intelligence they depend on, both on and off the track.”

The companies said they planned to develop and deploy energy technology to enable peak performance and to build on their supplier relationship spanning more than 20 years.
