Scality unveils ARTESCA+ Veeam unified software appliance

Scality has announced the ARTESCA+ Veeam unified software appliance, integrating Veeam Backup & Replication software with Scality's ARTESCA. This solution enables deployment on a single host server, eliminating the need for separate infrastructure, which simplifies the setup process and reduces associated costs by as much as 30%. It is compatible with various hardware platforms, including those from HPE, Supermicro, and Lenovo.

Veeam's Vice President of Product Management, Andreas Neufert, emphasized the collaborative effort, stating, “This innovative solution simplifies the deployment of our industry-leading data resilience software alongside Scality's robust object storage, making it easier for organizations to enhance their cyber resilience.” The ARTESCA+ Veeam appliance integrates both platforms into a single software appliance, streamlining deployment and operations.

Key features of the solution include simplified and foolproof deployment, enhanced security based on zero-trust principles, non-disruptive integrity checks, and predictable performance. Operational simplicity is also a focus, with an integrated dashboard facilitating the monitoring of both systems.

Scality plans to offer this unified software appliance initially in a single-node configuration, accommodating various Virtual Machine (VM) and capacity requirements. This offering is a part of Scality's strategy to serve small and medium-sized businesses, with a channel-friendly design poised to drive sales.

Customers can purchase the solution through channel partners, who will receive documentation and support for installation on validated hardware configurations.
