Salt Security releases Databricks connector and Netlify collector
Salt Security announced two additions to its connectivity fabric, releasing a Databricks Connector and a Netlify Collector to extend Application Programming Interface (API) discovery and traffic capture across agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI) workloads and decoupled frontends.
The company framed the changes as a response to visibility gaps when AI agents operated inside platforms such as Databricks and when frontend logic bypassed standard gateways; generalist infrastructure scanners were described as unable to observe agent behavior inside those environments.
The Databricks Connector targeted the Agentic AI Action Layer and identified Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and AI agents that link proprietary data models to external APIs. Salt described capabilities that connected in minutes without complex instrumentation, mapped which APIs and data sources internal AI agents accessed, and allowed teams to apply the same security policies to AI workloads as to traditional APIs.
The Netlify Collector added traffic collection for decoupled frontend applications and Jamstack architectures and extended Salt's traffic analysis to Netlify's edge network; the company said the collector enabled the platform to support modern Content Delivery Networks and edge runtimes when frontend logic Radio Access Network (RAN) at the edge. Salt said both components were available immediately as part of the Salt Illuminate platform.
“Databricks is where the enterprise brain lives, but until now, we have not been able to see what the hands, the AI agents, are actually touching,” said Eric Schwake, Cybersecurity Director at Salt Security. “Generalist tools can tell you if your S3 bucket is open, but only Salt can tell you if an AI agent inside Databricks is actively leaking PII through an unmonitored API. We are turning the lights on in the agentic action layer.”
Salt said the Databricks Connector and Netlify Collector were available immediately as part of the Salt Illuminate platform.
