Summary
Salt Security has added Autonomous Defense to its Agentic Security Platform, an expansion enabled by Salt Workflows that lets the platform act on threats rather than only flag them. The change addresses a gap the company identified between detecting a risk and resolving it.
Security teams have spent years improving detection, yet response often still depends on manual handoffs and changes across disconnected systems. The company said that delay has become a risk of its own as AI accelerates the discovery and exploitation of weaknesses.
The Agentic Security Graph links AI agents, MCP servers, tools, and downstream APIs with context from exposure, source code, configuration, and runtime behavior. That context helps identify dangerous paths and informs policy-driven actions that customers select for enforcement.
Through Salt Workflows and connected controls, security teams can revoke risky agent and MCP tool access, push targeted blocking rules to existing WAFs and API gateways, update supported guardrail policies, and trigger configuration changes that close exposed APIs. Customers define which findings trigger immediate action and which changes need approval. A visual, drag-and-drop builder and more than 200 out-of-the-box connectors support workflow design across the tools already in use.
Aner Gelman, VP Product at Salt Security, said: “Security cannot move at ticket speed when attackers move at machine speed. Autonomous Defense turns Salt's security intelligence into action, from blocking malicious activity and revoking risky access to enforcing protections through controls enterprises already use.”
Roey Eliyahu, Co-founder and CEO at Salt Security, said: “An alert doesn't stop an attack. Action does. Salt secures the entire agentic path, from AI agents and MCPs to downstream APIs. Autonomous Defense puts that intelligence to work, helping security teams stop attacks and close dangerous paths before they cause business impact.” Existing workflows are being migrated to the new experience, with support for customer-specific requirements.
