Relativity said it integrated Relativity aiR with ChatGPT Enterprise to let legal teams use natural language for work inside ChatGPT Enterprise while managing matters and permissions in Relativity aiR.
The company said the integration deepened its work with OpenAI, and it described Relativity aiR as an AI platform for legal work that supports organizing case data and managing legal operations.
Relativity said the integration used Model Context Protocol (MCP), which allowed legal teams to connect ChatGPT Enterprise to Relativity aiR for actions that included standing up new matters and aligning workspaces to the structure of their data. It said the approach supported managing access and workflows in Relativity aiR.
Relativity said it began working with OpenAI in 2024, when ChatGPT Enterprise became a data source in Collect, enabling legal teams to collect activity logs and conversation content for review in a near-native format. Chris Brown, President of Relativity, said, “ChatGPT Enterprise has quickly become one of the most common places professionals go to manage their work, and legal teams are no exception,” and added, “In connecting Relativity aiR with ChatGPT Enterprise, legal professionals can take action within the tools they already use, while maintaining the security and permissions of their existing workflows and keeping Relativity's substantive data analysis within the platform.” The company said it planned to keep pace with evolving AI capabilities through its MCP strategy.
