More About Telenor Connexion
Telenor Connexion operates as the IoT specialist company within Telenor Group, focused on providing managed cellular connectivity and related services for enterprises that build and operate connected products, machines, and large-scale IoT solutions. Its offerings are oriented toward use cases where devices are deployed across multiple countries and mobile networks, and where enterprises require a single commercial and technical framework for connectivity, operations, and support.
The core of Telenor Connexion’s portfolio is global IoT connectivity (connectivity services), based primarily on cellular technologies such as 2G, 3G (where available), 4G/LTE, LTE-M, and NB-IoT (cellular IoT). These services are typically delivered through managed SIMs or eSIMs that allow devices to attach to partner networks in many regions while the enterprise interacts with Telenor Connexion as a single provider. For enterprise and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) customers, this supports logistics, manufacturing, and lifecycle processes where products ship with embedded connectivity and operate in diverse markets.
On top of the underlying network access, Telenor Connexion provides an IoT connectivity management platform (IoT connectivity management) through which customers can provision, activate, suspend, and monitor SIMs and devices, configure usage thresholds, and integrate connectivity data into their own operational systems via APIs. This platform layer is central for enterprise architects and operations teams that need to maintain observability and cost control across fleets of devices in multiple countries and networks.
The company also offers IoT solution consulting and professional services (IoT consulting and integration), supporting customers with architecture design, security and identity concepts for devices, onboarding and manufacturing processes, and integration of connectivity management into back-end systems such as billing, CRM, or service management. These services are often applied in projects for connected vehicles, smart meters, industrial equipment, or consumer products where connectivity must be integrated into existing product and IT landscapes.
From a technical perspective, Telenor Connexion’s services rely on standard mobile network architectures, global roaming agreements, and secure data transport using established protocols and Virtual Private Network (VPN) options (network and security services). The company typically provides options for private APNs, secure tunnels into enterprise networks, and traffic routing models that allow data termination in specific regions, which are relevant for data residency and compliance planning.
In the enterprise marketplace, Telenor Connexion aligns with categories such as global IoT connectivity, cellular IoT platforms, and managed IoT services. Customers use it as a single partner for worldwide Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) management, network access, and 24/7 operations, instead of contracting and integrating multiple local mobile operators. Its role is comparable to other managed IoT connectivity providers that aggregate cellular network resources, but with specific linkage to Telenor Group’s infrastructure and roaming footprint. For directory and taxonomy purposes, Telenor Connexion can be categorized under global IoT connectivity services, IoT connectivity management platforms, and IoT consulting and managed services.
