Reco Launches General Availability of Reco Browser Guard Runtime Security

Reco, the Agent Ecosystem Security Company, released general availability of Reco Browser Guard, a runtime security layer intended to reduce risks associated with browser-based AI use. The release centers on prompt inspection and the use of identity and context during browser interactions.

According to the announcement, employee AI activity often begins in the browser and may involve coding agents and autonomous workflows that security teams already monitor less directly. The company said a prompt can introduce risk when it is connected to who sent it, what data it contains, and where it is used, including the destination and business purpose.

Reco Browser Guard is described as inspecting prompts and agent activity, then correlating that information with Reco’s context on the user, data, and the business environment. The layer is also said to identify user identity, the data involved, the destination, account type, and business purpose, and to expose AI tools, browser extensions, and personal accounts used outside approved channels.

The product is positioned as built for agents rather than prompts alone. The announcement states that agents retrieve context, call tools, and take action on a user’s behalf, expanding risk beyond typed input. Reco Browser Guard is described as evaluating the identity behind an agent’s action, the data it accesses, and whether behavior fits company policy, with the ability to detect, guide, block, or stop activity before data exposure. “AI security is not just about knowing which tools employees use,” said Ofer Klein, co-founder and chief executive officer of Reco. “Security teams need to know what data enters each interaction, what an agent can reach and whether its next action should be allowed. Browser Guard enforces policy decisions in the browser, where AI use is actually happening, with the context needed to stop risky activity before it creates exposure.”
