Quantum Computing Inc. (QCi) signed a three-year Framework Agreement with Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar (HBKU) to collaborate on quantum computing, quantum sensing, and quantum communications, according to the companies. The agreement sets out a joint research and education plan focused on activities in Qatar.
The partnership includes academic research in a specific focus area for HBKU, executive education programs, industry-focused projects, applications development, and co-marketing initiatives described in the release. It also outlines work intended to develop practical quantum solutions and to build quantum talent and leadership.
QCi said it will provide on-cloud Dirac-3 system access to HBKU, along with installation in Qatar to support a quantum ecosystem and regional leadership. The release describes the Dirac-3 platform as designed to solve complex optimization problems using entropy quantum computing techniques deployed through the cloud without requiring specialized quantum expertise.
HBKU said the work will create opportunities for further quantum research and for developing knowledge and skills tied to adoption of quantum technologies across Qatar. “Quantum technologies will have their greatest impact when they move beyond the laboratory and into practical applications that create measurable value for industry and society,” said Yong Meng Sua, CTO of QCi.
