OpenText Enterprise Data and AI Solutions to be Available on AWS European Sovereign Cloud

OpenText said it will make several enterprise data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions available on the AWS European Sovereign Cloud. The change matters for organizations that need a hybrid sovereign cloud approach with data governance anchored within the European Union. The offering also uses AWS cloud capabilities while keeping sensitive data within European boundaries.

OpenText described the AWS European Sovereign Cloud as an independent cloud for Europe, with infrastructure entirely located within the EU and operating independently from existing regions. It said the environment is backed by technical controls, sovereign assurances, and legal protections. OpenText stated that customers could use the same AWS service portfolio, security, availability, performance, familiar architecture, and APIs.

OpenText’s hybrid sovereign cloud offering was linked to what it calls secure, AI-ready data platforms, as well as structured content management. The company said its solutions aim to support meeting operational autonomy and data residency requirements within the European Union. OpenText also described AWS European Sovereign Cloud capabilities as including the AWS Nitro System.

OpenText said OpenText™ Content Management, OpenText™ Documentum Content Management, OpenText™ Core Application Security, and OpenText™ Core Service Management will be available on the AWS European Sovereign Cloud. It framed the availability as part of its effort to expand its hybrid sovereign cloud capabilities in Europe through a delivery path that leverages AWS capabilities. OpenText also said customers can begin planning their transition to the AWS European Sovereign Cloud today.
