NVIDIA Introduces Cosmos 3 Edge and Expands Cosmos Coalition in Japan

NVIDIA said Japan’s physical AI leaders plan to build with NVIDIA Cosmos, NVIDIA Isaac, NVIDIA Metropolis, and NVIDIA Jetson. The effort focuses on deploying intelligent machines in manufacturing and other physical settings where systems need to interpret environment data and act locally.

In the same announcement, NVIDIA introduced Cosmos 3 Edge as an addition to the NVIDIA Cosmos 3 open world model family. NVIDIA also said it expanded the NVIDIA Cosmos Coalition to Japan to bring together world model builders, AI developers, and physical AI leaders for open world models built with Cosmos technologies.

NVIDIA described Cosmos 3 Edge as a 4-billion-parameter model built on NVIDIA Nemotron that supports on-device vision reasoning and robot policy execution on NVIDIA edge computers. It said developers can use the open NVIDIA Cosmos framework to adapt the model for robots, vehicles, sensors, and environments in about a day, and then deploy across RTX GPUs, DGX systems, and NVIDIA Jetson modules including T2000 and T3000.

NVIDIA also outlined Metropolis libraries for video intelligence development with Cosmos, and said coalition members can contribute to and build on the Cosmos platform, including open models, data curation libraries, datasets, and frameworks. NVIDIA stated Fujitsu is exploring a collaborative control platform that integrates NVIDIA’s physical AI stack, and it listed other participants and projects including a physical AI development platform built on NVIDIA Omniverse and NVIDIA Isaac Sim, plus work on manufacturing data workflows and digitization.

“The next frontier of AI is in the physical world, and this is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for Japan,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA. “Japan invented modern manufacturing. Now, it has the opportunity to reinvent it for the age of intelligent industries. By combining its world-leading heritage in manufacturing, precision engineering and robotics with NVIDIA Cosmos, Isaac, Metropolis and Jetson, Japan’s innovators are building the next generation of intelligent machines. We are honored to partner with them on this journey.”
