Netcraft reported that in 2026 five additional top 12 U.S. financial institutions selected its digital risk protection services. The update describes increased takedown volume and broader coverage of threat types as part of how the company handles external cyber risk.
Netcraft said it now defends seven of the 12 top financial institutions in the U.S. and nine of the world’s top 15 banks. The company also described a focus on turning intelligence into action across a range of abuse points, including sites, domains, impersonation activity, malicious ads, mobile apps, messaging platforms, phone numbers, and scam infrastructure on the deep and dark web.
According to the company, its approach combines internet-scale detection using curated and proprietary data with classification and evidence. Netcraft also stated it uses privileged access across internet infrastructure to move a threat from discovery to validation and removal, and it highlighted features tied to automated takedowns for areas it identified as social media protection, phishing, and phone scam disruption, among others.
The company said it passed 4.1 million takedowns for 2026 in early September, surpassing its entire 2025 total. Netcraft attributed part of the takedown increase to expanding customer growth and additional coverage through offerings it named as Preemptive Domain Disruption, Phone Scam Disruption, and enhanced social media protection. “Earning the trust of five more of the U.S.'s largest banks represents another critical moment in the growth and evolution of Netcraft. Surpassing 4.1 million takedowns also shows the scale and scope of the impact we have on the global threat ecosystem. These are important milestones for Netcraft, and their real value lies in the criminal infrastructure removed and the harm prevented. Our commitment to building solutions that support our mission to protect the world from cybercrime remains the reason we grow,” Ryan Woodley, CEO, Netcraft, said.
Netcraft also included a statement from a vice president for brand protection at a leading U.S. financial institution: “Netcraft is detecting threats our previous coverage was missing and getting them taken down quickly. The automation is fantastic across social, phishing, phone numbers, and ads. We're seeing strong results that continue to save our team many hours each week. The solution has become a key element of our security stack.” The company said that as its customer base grows, each takedown informs better detection and faster classification.
