NetApp validates enterprise storage for NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD and Cloud Partners
NetApp has received validation for its enterprise storage systems from NVIDIA, aimed at boosting Artificial Intelligence (AI) training and inferencing capabilities. This partnership allows customers to access validated configurations and architectures for NVIDIA technologies like the DGX SuperPOD and NVIDIA Cloud Partners, integrating advanced data management with NetApp’s ONTAP system. The validation positions NetApp to utilize the NVIDIA AI Data Platform reference design, enhancing storage infrastructure to support AI model inference workloads through NVIDIA's accelerated computing solutions. “NetApp and NVIDIA are longstanding technology partners, jointly serving hundreds of customers for AI model training and inferencing,” stated Jonsi Stefansson, Senior Vice President and CTO at NetApp. He emphasized the importance of a comprehensive data strategy to leverage AI effectively. NetApp’s advancements include several key certifications: - The NetApp AFF A90 is validated for NVIDIA’s DGX SuperPOD, enabling secure data management for high-performance AI factories. - The AFF A90 is certified as high-performance storage for NVIDIA Cloud Partners, ensuring the delivery of scalable infrastructure for AI services. - NetApp AIPod has attained the NVIDIA-Certified Storage designation, supporting various AI workloads while streamlining infrastructure. These developments reflect a shift in enterprise data management, emphasizing the need for integrated solutions to handle burgeoning AI workloads effectively. The partnership aims to help organizations harness their data more efficiently, facilitating insights and automating operations with AI. NetApp will showcase these innovations at NVIDIA’s GTC event, scheduled for March 2025 in San Jose, California. This collaboration is expected to support enterprises in capitalizing on AI-driven opportunities without needing extensive dedicated resources.
