Mplify enhances Carrier Ethernet Certification for AI networks

Mplify announced an enhancement to its Carrier Ethernet certification program aimed at boosting the performance of AI-driven networks. The new certification, titled Carrier Ethernet for Artificial Intelligence (AI), validates service performance tailored to meet the demands of AI workloads.

This update extends Mplify’s existing Carrier Ethernet for Business certification, which provides a structure for service providers to ensure reliable and assured performance across network services. The rebranding of Model Evaluation Framework (MEF) 3.0 certification to Mplify Carrier Ethernet for Business certification enables consistent service deliverables for enterprise customers.

Carrier Ethernet for AI certification is designed to address AI-intensive requirements with a focus on reliability and efficiency for coordinating AI models and associated devices. Use cases target connectivity needs essential to AI Operations (AIOps), such as data center communications and connections between AI peripherals and Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) clusters.

A further extension, Carrier Ethernet over Broadband certification, is set to enhance performance assurance for both business and AI profiles over broadband access services, allowing providers to demonstrate high-quality service delivery over wider broadband connections.

Daniel Bar Lev, Chief Product Officer at Mplify, discussed the evolving landscape, stating, “AI is redefining what networks must deliver. With the Carrier Ethernet for AI certification, Mplify is extending the proven foundation of Carrier Ethernet for Business into the AI era.”

The Carrier Ethernet for Business certification is currently available, while the Carrier Ethernet for AI certification is expected to be accessible in early 2026. Over the past 20 years, Carrier Ethernet has been fundamental in establishing standards for dependable networking, crucial for supporting high-capacity infrastructures required by AI workloads.
