MITRE collaborates with NVIDIA on AI-native wireless networks for 6G

MITRE has entered into a collaboration with NVIDIA to work on AI-native wireless networks, particularly for 6G technologies. The partnership aims to redesign wireless networks and infrastructure by leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) advancements. Mark Peters, president and CEO of MITRE, highlighted that such networks will enhance spectrum efficiency and improve connectivity for critical sectors like transportation and healthcare. The initiative includes developing and prototyping new AI-driven services, including dynamic spectrum sharing, agentic network organization, security, and integrated sensing communications. Charles Clancy, MITRE's chief technology officer, pointed out that ensuring telecom leadership in the United States is essential for future advancements. MITRE will utilize its expertise in telecommunications to support government agencies, telecom companies, and AI researchers. This collaboration follows previous joint efforts between MITRE and NVIDIA, which include the Federal AI Sandbox and a Center of Excellence for NVIDIA Omniverse. The two organizations are also investing in modeling and simulation projects for advanced robotics applications, including the Digital Proving Ground for autonomous vehicles.
