Mezmo introduces simplified pricing for observability services

Transparent, straightforward pricing helps companies scale without costly barriers.

Mezmo, the modern observability company, has introduced a simplified pricing model for its telemetry orchestration platform. The new pricing structure includes a charge of $0.20 per gigabyte ingested and $0.20 per gigabyte retained per month, significantly lowered from previous rates of $1.80 per gigabyte retained. This change is intended to ease fiscal constraints for companies scaling their observability services.

The announcement addresses a growing issue in the industry where data from cloud services, microservices, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly increasing, which has led to a rise in observability costs. Many vendors traditionally implement complex pricing models that can lead to unpredictable bills as organizations are compelled to retain vast amounts of telemetry data.

Mezmo has restructured its backend to reduce infrastructure expenses, achieving over a 90% reduction in resource usage while improving its data processing capabilities. CEO Tucker Callaway stated, “We tackled the rising costs of observability head-on by taking a holistic look at how organizations process, analyze, and store telemetry data. The result is a more sustainable, scalable, and valuable model for observability data.”

Key features of the new pricing model include transparent costs for contract customers, built-in data ingestion controls, and an option for cold storage with rehydration capabilities for periodically accessed data. This initiative aims to align customer expenses more closely with actual usage and value.
