Advantech Introduces Edge AI Compute Solutions with Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite

Advantech introduced a suite of edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) compute solutions, the AOM-6731, AIMB-293, and SOM-6820, powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite platform. These products were designed to address industrial applications that require robust processing capabilities and integrated AI acceleration.

Utilizing Snapdragon's 12-core and 10-core Central Processing Unit (CPU) configurations, these solutions operate at speeds up to 3.4GHz, enabling rapid data processing while reducing power consumption by 28% compared to traditional x86 architectures. This reduction holds true across common tasks, such as video conferencing and web browsing.

The offerings also feature advanced LPDDR5X memory, achieving a speed increase of 1.3 times and reducing power usage by 20%. Enhanced storage options with UFS 4.0 allow for higher data transfer rates and improved durability in demanding environments.

Multimedia applications benefit from the Snapdragon Adreno's capabilities, with support for full 4K video encoding and superior graphics for visual tasks. Connectivity advancements include integrated 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) and 5G technologies, ensuring high-speed networking and stable data streaming essential for AI applications.

The AOM-6731, AIMB-293, and SOM-6820 solutions will be available for engineering evaluations beginning in March 2025, providing industries with tools to enhance their edge AI capabilities.
