Lumentum to Unveil Optical Networking Innovations at OFC 2025

Lumentum Holdings Inc. will unveil its latest innovations in optical networking at the Optical Fiber Communications Conference and Exhibition (OFC) 2025, scheduled for March 30–April 3 in San Francisco. At booth #2119, the company will showcase advancements in high-speed data interconnect products, optical circuit switching (OCS), high-power pump lasers, and networking technologies aimed at supporting AI-driven and cloud-scale architectures.

The display will include live demonstrations of technologies designed for AI/ML workloads and coherent data center interconnects. Key highlights will feature Lumentum's Optical Circuit Switch (OCS) technology, which is designed to improve scalability and efficiency for AI/ML applications.

In addition to the product showcase, Lumentum experts will engage in technical sessions at the event. CEO Michael Hurlston will participate in the CEO panel at the Optica Executive Forum on March 31.

Highlighted products include AI/ML back-end network components, cloud front-end networking solutions, and Data Center Interconnect (DCI) products like the TrueFlex® Micro Twin wavelength selective switch. Lumentum will also demonstrate the R300 OCS, optimized for Artificial Intelligence (AI) cluster interconnects, set to be available in the second half of 2025.

Furthermore, Lumentum has partnered with Keysight Technologies and NTT Innovative Devices to demonstrate 448 Gbps data transmission technology at the conference.

In addition, the M2 Series Pump Laser modules will be introduced, designed for high-power amplification in optical networks.

Throughout the conference, Lumentum will offer a series of technical workshops and presentations highlighting advancements in optical and photonic technologies, including discussions on laser technologies for AI interconnects and cost-optimization strategies for scaling Machine Learning (ML) clusters.
