Itential launches FlowAI for agentic orchestration in infrastructure operations

Itential has introduced FlowAI, an extension of its platform designed to incorporate agentic orchestration into infrastructure operations. This addition aims to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) agents and reasoning systems within a governed automation framework across hybrid IT environments.

FlowAI presents an approach intended to bridge intelligent reasoning with deterministic automation governed by the Itential Platform’s security and execution model. This facilitates the combination of autonomous decision-making with controlled, auditable automation processes, aligning with current enterprise requirements for operational governance.

The technical framework of FlowAI encompasses several components: the FlowAgent Builder for defining role-based agent parameters; FlowAgents, which execute tasks through deterministic workflows; the FlowMCP Gateway, enabling secure interaction with external agents; and the FlowMCP Server, which manages multiple Model Context Protocol (MCP) instances under centralized controls. Collectively, these establish an AI-to-Action Continuum ensuring that agent decisions adhere to enterprise governance.

Currently available in Private Customer Preview, FlowAI allows selected organizations to experiment with agentic orchestration capabilities and engage with Itential’s development teams. The offering seeks to provide a controlled environment for integrating AI-driven automation without compromising on security, visibility, and compliance mandates inherent to modern infrastructure management.

Peter Syrgada, Itential’s Chief Architect, said, “The next wave of infrastructure automation moves beyond scripted speed to intelligent orchestration – where agentic reasoning and deterministic execution work together. Enterprises are ready to move beyond predefined workflows toward systems that can think, plan, and act responsibly.” Scott Raynovich, Chief Analyst at Futuriom Research, said, “AI is reshaping how infrastructure is operated, and Itential is at the forefront of that shift. As enterprises work to understand how to safely adopt agentic orchestration and automation, Itential’s FlowAI delivers not only a development platform with tools that accelerate the process, but also the guardrails and governance needed to adopt agentic automation with confidence.”

Itential outlined opportunities for future collaboration with participants in the Private Customer Preview to refine FlowAI’s governed intelligence capabilities within infrastructure automation contexts.
