The second World Humanoid Robot Games took place in Beijing from August 15 to 17, with 666 teams from 16 countries and 2,056 humanoid robots competing across multiple categories. The event included robot sprint performance on the opening night.
China Unicom served as the event’s official communications service provider and collaborated with H3C to support event operations and participation. The collaboration centered on deploying networking capabilities to support connectivity during competition activities.
H3C deployed its flagship Wi-Fi 7 AP WA7638 across the competition venues. The setup used Multi-Link Operation (MLO) and was designed to support more than 2,000 robots connecting simultaneously for high-speed transmission of control commands and real-time competition data.
H3C also implemented dual-uplink redundancy, optimized AP deployment and wireless parameters, and applied network isolation to reduce interference between teams and competition areas. In addition, H3C integrated AI-powered intelligent O&M into its cloud-based network management platform for continuous monitoring, proactive issue detection, and rapid troubleshooting, including AI-powered seamless roaming, intelligent network diagnostics, and intelligent RF optimization. “AI-Powered Seamless Roaming: AI identifies endpoint mobility and predicts movement trajectories to dynamically optimize roaming strategies, enabling millisecond-level seamless handovers for fast-moving robots,” said the deployment description. The teams’ work also included a home-stretch connectivity reference to prior international sporting-event support, including the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, and the 2025 Asian Winter Games in Harbin.
