Gigamon has added a network appliance and new software capabilities to its Deep Observability Pipeline. The additions support network and security operations that are becoming more AI-enabled.
Enterprise AI is shifting toward Hybrid AI architectures that span frontier, open-weight, specialized, and private models. Organizations place those models and services across public cloud, private cloud, and on-premises infrastructure based on the performance, cost, security, governance, and data requirements of each workload. As applications, services, users, agents, and models interact across that infrastructure, security and IT teams need a clear view of the activity involved.
The GigaVUE-GSA110 is a 1RU network appliance that adds high-density processing alongside existing GigaVUE TA Series and HC Series deployments. It supports Application Metadata Intelligence across up to 400 Gbps of network traffic and delivers optimized packets for up to 800 Gbps. Its disaggregated architecture allows organizations to add GigaSMART processing capacity where it is needed and to scale application intelligence and packet optimization.
Gigamon Application Metadata Intelligence, or AMI, converts network traffic into application and protocol context, covering application identity, relationships, dependencies, protocol behavior, and certificate activity. The resulting telemetry is available in native JSON export and supports JSON, CEF, and IPFIX formats for delivery to security, observability, data, and AI platforms, Kafka, and existing workflows. The same capability identifies and classifies GenAI and LLM application traffic, including shadow AI, to support AI governance.
Optimized packet traffic can be sent to packet-based tools, while AMI-derived telemetry goes to security, observability, data, and AI platforms. For HTTPS traffic, two metadata records are consolidated into one, reducing metadata records for those flows by about 50 percent while retaining application context. The GigaVUE-GSA110 appliance and the AMI enhancements are available now.
Gareth Maclachlan, chief operating officer at Gigamon, said, “Hybrid AI and agentic workflows will fundamentally change how enterprises operate and secure increasingly distributed infrastructure.”
