Flexera report outlines IT leaders' 2026 priorities

One in three Interposer Technology leaders identified Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration as their top priority for next year, according to the Flexera 2026 IT Priorities Report.

Flexera released its annual survey findings on Nov. 5, 2025, indicating that AI remains a strategic focus for IT leaders, with 33% prioritizing AI integration for the upcoming year. The report surveyed 834 global IT decision-makers, revealing that 94% are exploring AI integration, yet only 19% prioritize demonstrating AI’s effectiveness.

Brian Shannon, Chief Technology Officer at Flexera, noted, “AI has moved beyond the hype phase and is now a critical component of IT strategy. As organizations harness AI’s potential, they face significant challenges in demonstrating ROI and managing the associated costs and risks.”

A further analysis of the report highlighted key trends: reducing IT costs (24%) and cybersecurity risks (22%) rank among the top priorities. Additionally, 80% of IT leaders reported increased spending on AI applications, with many expressing concerns about overspending. Sustainability also gained traction, with 94% of leaders affirming its rising importance.

The findings underscored the difficulties IT leaders face as they navigate AI integration alongside a complex operational landscape. As organizations seek to enhance their digital strategies, balancing investments in AI with cost management and sustainability goals is crucial.
