Federated Wireless and Cisco have validated and deployed Standard Power Wi-Fi 6E and 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) in enterprise environments across the U.S. and Canada. These deployments, enabled by Federated Wireless’s Automated Frequency Coordination (AFC) service and Cisco’s wireless infrastructure, confirm Wi-Fi 6E’s capability for enterprise applications and offer insights for future Wi-Fi 7 implementations.
Organizations have historically faced challenges in providing reliable, high-capacity wireless connectivity in outdoor and high-ceiling settings such as college campuses and stadiums due to spectrum congestion and restrictions on 6 GHz Wi-Fi deployments. Adaptive Flow Classifier (AFC) certifications from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) now permit access to the 6 GHz spectrum, allowing Standard Power Wi-Fi use without disrupting existing users in the band.

Cisco's enterprise wireless platforms are optimized for performance and modern applications. Federated Wireless' AFC service, when integrated with Cisco’s platform, supports scalable usage of the 6 GHz band across North America, improving coverage both indoors and outdoors.

Early adopters are showcasing the advantages of unlicensed 6 GHz spectrum. Nutrien, a prominent agricultural inputs provider, has implemented Wi-Fi 6E across operations in the U.S. and Canada, enhancing performance in challenging environments, including high-ceiling industrial spaces.

The University of British Columbia is also deploying dense Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 networks on its Vancouver campus to enhance academic applications and support collaborative research.
