Eviden selected to lead AtLaS project under European Defence Fund

Eviden, selected by the European Commission, will provide the technical platform for the AtLaS initiative, a project under the European Defence Fund focusing on Human Language Technology Processing (HLTP). AtLaS aims to enhance the integration of applications developed by a consortium of nine organizations.

The project emphasizes the advancement of Human Language Technology (HLT) in defense environments. Its goals include addressing challenges associated with low-quality and multilingual data during defense communication and intelligence gathering. Additionally, AtLaS will utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to develop resilient systems capable of handling diverse languages and noisy contexts.

Bernard Payer, Global Head of Mission-Critical Systems at Eviden, said, “We are proud to have been selected by the European Commission on the HLTP challenge and to leverage our expertise in Systems Integration and Human Language Processing within a consortium of industrial companies. This is all the more important as HLTP is an essential tool for identifying threats and gathering information that can be exploited for defense purposes.” The project aims to evaluate automatic language processing solutions tailored to the defense sector's specific operational constraints.
