Eviden awarded NATO contract for Spanish Air Force communications system upgrade

Eviden, a product brand of the Atos Group, secured a €12 million contract from the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) to modernize communication systems for the Spanish Adaptive Incident Response (AIR) and Space Force (SASF). This initiative involves the supply, installation, and maintenance of advanced ground-to-air-to-ground (G/A/G) communication systems, enhancing operations at AIR Traffic Control (Agent Telemetry Collector (ATC)) towers throughout various AIR bases and surveillance sites.

The project, which is set to be completed within 18 months, will install several hundred civilian and military radio systems at 35 locations, ensuring comprehensive coverage of mainland Spain, the Balearic and Canary Islands, as well as Ceuta and Melilla. The scope of work includes deploying transmitters, receivers, and multiband radio transceiver systems operating in both VHF and UHF bands.

Mission-critical communications will be maintained continuously, supporting operational readiness for various missions, including those involving high-profile government transport. The updated systems will remain with the SASF for at least 20 years and will feature scalable technology to ensure ongoing operational support.

As a leader in providing technological solutions to defense sectors, Eviden noted this contract reflects its capabilities in delivering effective communication solutions. “The selection of our mission-critical systems demonstrates the quality of Eviden’s solutions and services,” said Orlando Rodriguez, Head of Mission-Critical Systems at Eviden.
