Ericsson launches On-Demand core network services platform for CSPs
Ericsson launched Ericsson On-Demand, a cloud-native core network services platform designed for Communication Service Providers (CSPs). This offering features rapid provisioning, allowing CSPs to deploy core services within minutes, scales elastically to meet demand, and operates on a consumption-based billing model.
Leveraging Google Cloud's Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), the platform supports CSPs in managing operational complexity while optimizing costs. Ericsson On-Demand integrates telecom-grade reliability with the flexibility of public cloud resources, enabling quick innovation and global expansion.
Key attributes include transparent pricing, built-in security features, and fully managed operations by Ericsson’s Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams, which assist with automated troubleshooting. This solution empowers CSPs to enhance existing networks without disruption, aligning with compliance and sovereignty requirements.
According to Eric Parsons, VP of Emerging Segments at Ericsson, the platform serves as an enabler for CTOs, facilitating speed, scalability, and strategic growth opportunities. Muninder Singh Sambi from Google Cloud remarked that the partnership allows CSPs to quickly deploy 5G core services and explore new revenue streams.
