Enterprises building high-density AI infrastructure now have access to EPIC, a global network of production-ready liquid cooling environments introduced by Equinix, Inc. The centers enable teams to test, build and deploy with support from Equinix experts and leading technology partners.
Moving AI from experimentation into production puts pressure on how infrastructure is cooled, powered and connected, since those factors shape deployment speed, cost and performance. Increasingly powerful GPU platforms are raising rack densities and driving demand for liquid cooling. Few enterprises have the expertise to coordinate cooling, power, networking and facility operations, and a gap in any one can stall a deployment.
Each EPIC location operates inside a live Equinix data center, where teams can trial the latest liquid-cooled GPU and CPU platforms alongside leading hardware partners. Teams can run AI training and inference workloads under real-world conditions, with Equinix experts helping identify infrastructure and operational issues before production.
Live environments operate in Frankfurt, London, Osaka, Paris and Sydney, and additional locations are expected to open in 2027. Enterprise teams can work with Equinix and its ecosystem of technology partners and original equipment manufacturers to assess combined liquid cooling stacks under field conditions.
EPIC builds on earlier Equinix spaces: the first Co-Innovation Facility, introduced in 2022, gave partners a place to test new technology before it entered Equinix data centers, and Solution Validation Centers were rolled out in 2024. “Liquid cooling is an essential component of modern enterprise infrastructure and a hard requirement for customer's deploying AI,” said Brian Stein, Senior Vice President, Infrastructure Products and Services at Equinix.
“Liquid cooling was new territory for us, so we built our confidence step by step,” said Matthieu Blumberg, SVP of Engineering Infrastructure, Security, Internal IT & CISO at Criteo. The release states that its forward-looking statements involve risks and uncertainties, and that Equinix does not assume any obligation to update them.
