Atos integrates generative AI into Selartag® cellar management application
Atos has announced the integration of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) into its Selartag® cellar management application. This new feature significantly decreases the time required to create wine inventory records by 90%. Designed in collaboration with Amazon Bedrock, it also increases the average data completeness rate from 53% to 88%, improving the overall quality of the application’s database.
The initiative was part of the 'Generative AI (GenAI) Challenge' organized by AWS and Atos, aimed at enhancing the use of GenAI among their joint customers. Previously, manual efforts to cross-reference a wine bottle with its corresponding record could take several minutes, with optional fields often left unfilled. The updated application allows users to list a wine by simply taking a photo of the label, making the process quicker and more efficient.
The GenAI feature not only facilitates faster inventory listing—averaging just seven seconds per bottle—but also enhances data accuracy by correcting spelling errors and eliminating duplicates. Users can update details in about 30 seconds. Hervé Lemaire, Founder and Chairman of Selartag®, stated that the new feature enriches the data available for sommeliers, ultimately assisting in better customer recommendations.
Sylvain Barthélemy, Chief Operating and Technology Officer at Atos, highlighted the importance of partnership with AWS for the application’s development and ongoing innovation tailored for the wine industry. Selartag® is aimed at various market participants including winegrowers, restaurateurs, and private consumers.
