Cisco and G42 announced an expansion of their partnership to develop Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure in the UAE, supporting the US-UAE AI Acceleration Partnership. The collaboration will integrate Cisco’s secure technologies into G42’s operations, focusing on large-scale AI deployments utilizing AMD’s MI350X GPUs to enhance regional AI capabilities.

As part of the partnership, Cisco will serve as the technology integrator within G42’s Regulated Technology Environment, ensuring compliance and protecting against unauthorized access. This initiative aligns with various ongoing projects under the AI Acceleration Partnership, which includes significant infrastructure advancements in Abu Dhabi.

Peng Xiao, Group CEO of G42, noted the collaboration with Cisco reinforces trust and alignment between the US and UAE. This partnership seeks to address the gap in Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) capacity, with many UAE organizations aiming to implement AI solutions yet lacking adequate resources.

Applied Digital reported achieving a Ready for Service milestone for its Polaris Forge 1 AI Factory Campus in North Dakota. This phase, encompassing 50 megawatts, aligns with demand for AI infrastructure and highlights the company’s project execution capability.

The facility is part of a 15-year lease with CoreWeave, expected to generate $11 billion in lease revenue. The deployment supports increasing capacity within the AI and HPC markets, with plans to optimize performance and minimize resource consumption.

Verizon Communications Inc. and Tillman Global Holdings reached an agreement for Eaton Fiber to expand Verizon’s broadband capabilities through high-capacity fiber service to new markets.
