Crusoe Launches Serverless Fine-Tuning and Self-Serve Deployments in Crusoe Intelligence Foundry
Crusoe said it expanded Crusoe Intelligence Foundry, its managed AI platform for Crusoe Cloud, with Serverless Fine-Tuning and Self-Serve Deployments. The update targets model development workflows that move from tuning to inference without reserving underlying infrastructure.
According to the company, fine-tuning has become a standard step for open-source AI model development, including cases where teams customize open-weight models using proprietary datasets and retain ownership of fine-tuned weights. Crusoe described repeat tuning as time-consuming when idle clusters, hardware failures, and separate tools introduce delays.
Crusoe’s Serverless Fine-Tuning was described as running on distributed AI-optimized infrastructure with automated recovery and restart if hardware blips are detected. The offering uses a curated library of open-weight base model families and supports LoRA fine-tuning. When tuning stopped improving, billing ended and tuned weights were exported in .safetensors format, with lineage tracing tuned artifacts to source data and configuration.
Self-Serve Deployments added inference consumption options for production-ready workloads within Intelligence Foundry, with pricing billed by GPU per hour. Users select a base model, choose an inference profile optimized for throughput or responsiveness, and deploy to NVIDIA H100 or H200 GPUs without managing infrastructure. Crusoe said teams could deploy in one click from the Serverless Fine-Tuning workflow, and it described general availability next week.
“Our early experience with Crusoe's Serverless Fine Tuning product was seamless, and it worked like a charm. We look forward to leveraging it to optimize the latency and cost of our AI agents as we scale our infrastructure.” — Dr. Will Leeney, Dr. Hiskias Dingeto, AI Researchers, StackOne. “Open models have definitely crossed the quality threshold, while offering unique optimization opportunities with your data, and giving you full control of their lifecycle, ” said Erwan Menard, Senior Vice President of Product, Crusoe Cloud. “With Crusoe Serverless Fine-Tuning and Self-Serve Deployments your journey just got easier; fast iteration, predictable cost, and the guarantee that your data and weights stay yours. You shouldn't have to choose between a managed experience and ownership of your model.”
