Confluent announces the general availability of Tableflow
Confluent has launched the General Availability (GA) of Tableflow, a tool that facilitates real-time access to operational data from data lakes and warehouses. This development allows organizations to harness their streaming data in standard open table formats, supporting advanced analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications.
Tableflow introduces several key features, including support for Apache Iceberg, which enables organizations to represent Apache Kafka topics as Iceberg tables, streamlining integration with data lakes and warehouses for analytics. Additionally, Confluent opens an early access program for Delta Lake, enhancing data consistency across operational and analytical environments.
Tableflow also provides flexibility for customers to manage their storage solutions, supporting Bring Your Own Storage options. This allows enterprises to store data according to their compliance needs. Integrated partnerships with entities such as AWS Glue Data Catalog and Snowflake’s Open Catalog facilitate improved data accessibility and governance. The updates aim to address challenges that IT teams face, as highlighted in a recent IDC report predicting that many organizations will reevaluate their AI data infrastructure in the coming years due to project failures linked to data silos.
