Concentric AI awarded patent for managing sensitive data with AI

Concentric Artificial Intelligence (AI) has received a new patent for its “Method and Electronic Device for Managing Sensitive Data Based on Semantic Categorization.” This patent underpins advancements in the company’s Semantic Intelligence data governance platform.

The patent enhances the platform's capability to assign sensitivity classification labels and accurately detect Personally Identifiable Information (PII) based on semantic context. Karthik Krishnan, Founder and CEO of Concentric AI, stated, “This new patent award is a recognition of our unique and pioneering efforts in advancing the data security industry.”

Concentric AI’s technology provides precise detection of sensitive information, including PII and intellectual property, by offering contextual understanding that distinguishes its offerings from others in the market. The patent secures intellectual property that can improve organizations' data classification and risk management processes, allowing for better data security measures.

The platform autonomously scans data records, detects sensitive content, identifies classification categories, and tags data accordingly. It addresses limitations in legacy methods, such as regex pattern matching, which can often lead to inaccuracies in data classification.

Overall, Concentric AI aims to enhance discovery and classification accuracy, helping organizations to identify risks to sensitive data and remediate sharing and permission issues effectively.
