CompTIA to conduct hands-on cyber range workshop at TechNet Indo-Pacific 2025
CompTIA conducted an immersive cyber range exercise aimed at demonstrating the complete anatomy of a cyberattack from breach to response across IT and Operational technology (OT) environments during the TechNet Indo-Pacific conference.
The “Skills for Protecting Mission-Critical Infrastructure: A Hands-On Workshop” was scheduled for Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT). 29, featuring live-fire simulation training. This workshop took place at the largest defense-focused event in the region held from OCT. 28-30 in Honolulu.
James Stanger, chief technology evangelist for CompTIA, led the workshop alongside key industry figures from Cloud Range and Cubic DTECH. Participants interacted with experts while engaging in hands-on training designed to enhance their skills in securing critical communications infrastructure.
Stanger stated, “You'll experience firsthand how attacks unfold—from reconnaissance through exploitation to detection and response—across converged IT/OT environments, while learning the essential skills needed to help unify and secure edge and cloud computing infrastructures for better communications and outcomes.”
CompTIA utilized Cloud Range’s cyber range platform for a controlled training environment, ensuring practitioners can prepare for various cyber threats. Participants explored attack surfaces, evaluated types of attacks, and identified effective security techniques.
By engaging in this workshop, attendees had the opportunity to earn continuing education units to renew their CompTIA certifications, enhancing their professional development within the cybersecurity field.
