Cohesity enhances integration with MongoDB for data protection

Cohesity recently announced an enhanced integration with MongoDB, aimed at improving backup and recovery for MongoDB databases. This integration offers advanced performance and control features tailored for large organizations, particularly in finance and critical workloads.

The integration provides capabilities to meet specific resilience requirements. It is designed for global banking, financial services, and Fortune 500 enterprises. Cohesity's DataProtect platform is positioned to support these stringent demands.

Vasu Murthy, senior vice president and chief product officer at Cohesity, emphasized the importance of cyber resilience, particularly for large enterprises that face high risks. Murthy stated, “Downtime for any reason can mean millions of dollars and massive reputational damage.” He pointed out that Cohesity and MongoDB's collaboration aims to enhance customers’ ability to recover quickly from disruptions.

Research indicates that many organizations overestimate their cyber resilience capabilities. Only 2% of surveyed organizations affirmed they could recover data and restore operations within 24 hours after a cyberattack. Cohesity’s integration with MongoDB addresses these challenges by enabling faster recovery, scalability, and enhanced security.

Key features of the integration include greater speed through parallel data streams, support for large datasets via a scale-out architecture, and additional security measures including immutable storage and data encryption. These advancements enable data to be restored significantly faster than traditional methods.

Benjamin Cefalo, from MongoDB, noted that this partnership supports organizations in protecting their data while maintaining performance expectations. Furthermore, Juan Orlandini from Insight commented on Cohesity’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its solutions for enterprise workloads.
