Cohesity enhances data protection and cyber resilience for Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization workloads

Cohesity has announced an expanded collaboration with Red Hat to enhance data protection and security for Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization. This integration enables customers to secure and manage data from virtual machines and containers more effectively using Cohesity DataProtect and NetBackup services. The updates aim to simplify backup and recovery processes, helping to bolster defenses against cyber threats, including ransomware.

The collaboration allows Cohesity DataProtect and NetBackup users to manage backup and recovery operations for Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization alongside other data sources on the Cohesity Data Cloud. This integration is designed to increase efficiency and scale in managing critical workloads.

The Cohesity platform, validated for use with Red Hat OpenShift and incorporating zero-trust principles, includes security features such as immutability and strict access controls. This aims to offer enhanced data resilience against cyber attacks. Cohesity and Red Hat's longstanding collaboration includes the use of Red Hat Enterprise Linux within the Cohesity Data Cloud, emphasizing their joint commitment to delivering robust data management solutions.

Matt Hicks, president and CEO of Red Hat, noted, “We are excited to expand our relationship with Cohesity to bring their data protection capabilities to Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization customers.” Sanjay Poonen, CEO of Cohesity, reiterated the importance of the partnership, stating, “Red Hat is a strategic partner of Cohesity, and having standardized on Red Hat Enterprise Linux in our appliances, we are bringing our cyber resilience capabilities to the Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization ecosystem.”
