Cloudera Reinforces Commitment to Saudi Vision 2030 with plans to launch its data and AI platform on the AWS Saudi Arabia Region

Cloudera announced plans to launch its data management and Artificial Intelligence (AI) analytics platform on the upcoming Amazon Web Services (AWS) Saudi Arabia Region. This initiative aims to support data integrity and sovereignty compliance for organizations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), especially those in highly regulated sectors.

The platform's deployment on AWS will allow KSA organizations to securely store and analyze data. It aligns with national goals for data sovereignty and regulatory compliance while facilitating scalable AI innovation. This move reinforces Cloudera's commitment to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, promoting digital transformation.

According to IDC's Worldwide Sovereign Cloud Market Forecast, investments in sovereign cloud infrastructure are expected to average a 27% annual increase, reaching $258 billion by 2027. This growth highlights the increasing reliance on data as a strategic asset, emphasizing the need for effective oversight and protection.

Paco Mateo-Sidron, Head of EMEA at Cloudera, stated, “In an era where data defines digital trust, the upcoming AWS Saudi Arabia Region enables our customers to balance innovation with compliance. They can safeguard their data within KSA borders, uphold the highest standards of governance, and advance AI and analytics initiatives with complete confidence.”

The ecosystem created by AWS's infrastructure and Cloudera's platform aims to meet regional standards, providing a strong solution for organizations in the public sector and regulated industries. Clients will benefit from the ability to preserve data sovereignty, advance innovation securely, and achieve operational independence with a regionally located cloud infrastructure.

Sergio Gago, Chief Technology Officer at Cloudera, emphasized that data is essential for secure and responsible innovation. Homomorphic Encryption (HE) noted that the partnership with AWS is tailored to help organizations in KSA fully realize the value of their data while remaining aligned with local regulations.
