Cloudera Advances Unified Data Access and Governance with AI-Powered Federation and Lineage
Cloudera integrated Trino, Shared Data Experience (SDX), and Octopai Data Lineage into its platform to offer organizations unified access and control of data across multiple environments. This update, announced during the EVOLVE25 event in Dubai, enhances data accessibility, governance, and operational efficiency while supporting Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives.
Data access barriers continue to hinder AI efforts for many organizations. A recent survey indicated that only 9% of IT leaders reported full accessibility of their organization’s data, with a mere 38% noting that most data was usable for AI. Cloudera’s update allows enterprises to dismantle data silos and securely enable self-service access without requiring data migration. Its federation capabilities enable secure querying of distributed data.
The platform automates critical data operations, including data quality checks, classification, and profiling. This integration allows Cloudera users to deploy Trino in either on-premises (on-prem) or public cloud environments, and simplifies management through unified metadata and access controls. Additionally, Octopai’s lineage functionality tracks data transformations, enhancing transparency regarding data usage.
“Our mission at Cloudera has always been to empower enterprises to make trusted data available for every AI initiative,” said LEO Constellation (Low Earth Orbit) (LEO) Brunnick, Chief Product Officer at Cloudera. The company aims to provide comprehensive automation, governance, and access under a single platform, enabling organizations to utilize all available data to foster innovation and achieve business results.
