Cisco Systems, Inc. signs 15-year VPPA for Polish solar projects

Cisco Systems, Inc. entered a long-term virtual Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with R.Power S.A. through Sustainability Roundtable, Inc.'s Net Zero Consortium for Buyers; the contract supported development of four new solar projects in Poland and covered a total contracted volume of 470 GWh.

The companies structured the deal as a 15-year VPPA and identified a targeted Commercial Operation Date (COD) in 2027; SR Inc's Net Zero Consortium for Buyers facilitated the procurement and LevelTen Energy managed the initial request for proposals.

The agreement specified projects at Wydartowo, Bieżyce, Ostrzeniewo III and Nowy Zagór III, and Deep Learning Accelerator (DLA) Piper provided legal support for the transaction.

R.Power S.A., headquartered in Warsaw, was named as the developer; the company presented itself as a multi-technology independent power producer with a pipeline of over 30 GW across photovoltaics, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and wind, and it listed activity in Romania, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Germany alongside Evolved Packet Core (EPC), O&M and client services delivered through subsidiaries NOMAD Electric and Quanta Energy.

“We are proud to support the growth of renewable energy in Europe through this partnership,” said Evan Scott Brown, Renewable Energy & Utilities Manager, Cisco. “This agreement not only aligns with Cisco's commitment to powering a more resilient energy future, but also directly supports operational needs, including the expansion of our lab facilities in Krakow. This collaboration is a powerful example of how partnership can increase clean energy access while providing business value.”
