Cequence Security Expands Partner Program to Support Channel-Only Model
Application Programming Interface (API) security leader formalizes partner program with structured tiers, enhanced enablement, and profitability incentives as company transitions from channel-first to channel-only model.
Cequence Security announced the expansion and formalization of its Partner Program, underlining its commitment to a channel-only business approach. Currently, 74% of its net-new revenue is generated from partnerships, positioning Cequence as a notable participant in the API security sector transitioning to a channel-centric model.
The enhanced Partner Program aims to tackle critical customer challenges related to API attacks, which are increasingly prevalent. The program ensures specialized partners can effectively deliver Cequence's Unified API Protection platform, provides access to managed services, and consolidates security capabilities into a unified solution.
“We are dedicated to a channel strategy that delivers value for all stakeholders, ensuring that vendors, partners, and customers can succeed together,” said Sydney Weber, Director of Channel Sales at Cequence Security. The program aims to empower partners with necessary tools, enablement, and incentives to pursue growth in application, API, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) security.
Structured on three core pillars, the Partner Program features deal registration and protection, a partner portal for enablement, and incentives for growth. These elements are designed to foster partner success and profitability.
The program consists of structured tiers, offering strategic partners enhanced collaboration in go-to-market efforts, while authorized partners receive comprehensive support. This tiered structure ensures appropriate backing is provided according to the partner's engagement and market presence.
Cequence’s partner ecosystem currently comprises 20 authorized partners and is onboarding two additional strategic partners, including Defy Security and GuidePoint Security. This collaborative network aims to expand opportunities within API security.
Cequence’s channel-focused strategy distinguishes it from competitors that often employ direct sales models in cybersecurity. The program provides unique access to the growing sector, emphasizing structured enablement and profitability opportunities for partners.
The firm reinforced its commitment to its channel program through strong internal alignment, fostering a high-performing partner network that promotes pipeline growth and deal velocity. With 74% of net-new revenue coming from partners, Cequence's Partner Program has become integral to the company’s growth strategy.
