Capgemini partners with OpenAI on Frontier platform

Capgemini announced a strategic partnership with OpenAI to accelerate use of OpenAI’s Frontier platform for building and managing Artificial Intelligence (AI) coworkers, a move the companies said addressed the need to deploy AI across enterprises and to close the AI opportunity gap.

Capgemini said 2026 was identified as the “year of truth for AI” and that more than half of organizations committed to sustained, multi-year investment horizons, a shift the company framed as moving from experimentation toward long-term value creation. The company added that leaders recognize the primary barrier to scaling AI is the readiness of data, operating models, technology and digital enablement, and domain knowledge.

OpenAI described Frontier as a platform for building, deploying, and managing AI coworkers that can do real work across the enterprise. Capgemini said it brought sector and domain experience, strategy and transformation capabilities, and advanced AI, data and cloud assets, and that this was backed by OpenAI research and product expertise across enterprise AI Cloud, agents, APIs, and ChatGPT Enterprise.

As a founding member of the OpenAI Frontier Alliance, Capgemini said it planned to establish a flagship OpenAI Enterprise Frontier delivery function at scale staffed by AI experts to work alongside OpenAI’s Forward Deployed Engineering team. The partners said the delivery team would include OpenAI certified professionals to help move clients from AI experimentation to scaled operations across business units, markets, and geographies and to co-develop bespoke solutions for sectors such as consumer products & retail, financial services, life sciences and energy and utilities.

“Our multi-year partnership with Capgemini will help bring AI coworkers to enterprises,” said Brad Lightcap, Chief Operating Officer at OpenAI.

The partners said they intended to offer combined enterprise-grade AI products and implementation capabilities to deliver measurable business outcomes across organizations and described the collaboration as a long-term strategic collaboration.
