Atsign and Intel described work to address an encryption bottleneck that had limited end-to-end encrypted agent-to-agent communications for edge AI deployments described as part of smart transportation environments. The companies said the combination of their approaches improved performance for hardware-accelerated communications used by autonomous agents.
They co-published a Smart Transportation Solution Brief titled “Securing Agentic AI at the Edge for Smart Transportation.” The brief revisited how transportation systems are moving toward distributed, intelligent infrastructures where edge systems, operations platforms, and autonomous agents interact across intersections, traffic corridors, and mobility networks, and it argued that trust is required as systems become more autonomous.
According to the brief, Atsign’s architecture provided trusted identity management, namespace isolation, scoped data sharing, end-to-end encryption, and auditability. Intel contributed hardware-backed key generation, accelerated encryption and hashing, protected key storage, secure boot, Trusted Compute, Total Memory Encryption, and Full Disk Encryption to help support platform integrity and data protection.

Intel also added Atsign to its Industrial Builders partner program directory, citing access to pre-validated solutions, streamlined sourcing, confidence in compliance standards, and a direct collaboration path via a trusted gateway.
