Tata Communications integrates TGN-IA2 submarine cable system
Tata Communications announced the integration of the TGN-IA2 submarine cable system into its existing network, enhancing connectivity for businesses across Asia. This new system is constructed by the Asia Direct Cable (ADC) consortium and aims to provide scalable bandwidth solutions and high-capacity data transfer across multiple routes. The TGN-IA2 will allow enterprises, hyperscalers, and service providers to access diverse connectivity solutions from a single provider in their Intra-Asia networks. It will integrate with Tata Communications existing infrastructure, facilitating connections from Asia to key regions including the US, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India. The design of TGN-IA2 offers Tata Communications flexibility in managing end-to-end capacity upgrades. This independence is expected to result in faster provisioning for customers, allowing enterprises to rapidly adapt to changing requirements. The network supports data-intensive applications such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), high-definition streaming, and seamless data center connectivity. Tata Communications anticipates that sectors reliant on swift and secure data transit, such as financial services and e-commerce, will benefit from this integration. Key improvements include reduced latency for enhanced internet speeds, greater reliability, and robust network diversity through interconnection with the existing TGN-IA submarine cable system. Genius Wong, Executive Vice President β Core and Next-Gen Connectivity Services and Chief Technology Officer at Tata Communications, stated, βAt Tata Communications, we remain steadfast in our commitment to investing in subsea cable systems to meet our customers' growing demands for high-performance connectivity solutions... TGN-IA2 is a foundation for your future.β
