Advantech partners with Rohde & Schwarz to deliver Wi-Fi compliant and deployment-ready industrial Wi-Fi 7 modules

Advantech announced a collaboration with Rohde & Schwarz to establish a validation approach for industrial 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) modules. This partnership aims to combine Rohde & Schwarz's expertise in signaling and RF measurements with Advantech's wireless platforms, enhancing compliance processes and reducing deployment risks for customers seeking faster market entry.

Wi-Fi 7 technology provides high throughput and low latency, along with features like Multi-Link Operation (MLO) and ultra-wide channels for stable connectivity across diverse environments. Advantech’s AIW-173 module series focuses on applications in medical imaging, robotics, rugged devices, and ProAV, catering to sectors that require high reliability and performance.

Jerry Chiang, Director of the Embedded Internet of Things (IoT) Group at Advantech, stated, “By moving design validation, pre-compliance, and OTA/interoperability earlier into R&D and pre-pilot stages, we ensure a verifiable and scalable wireless experience.” Sean Ting, Senior Regional Sales Manager at Rohde & Schwarz, added support for critical Wi-Fi 7 features, enhancing Advantech's product verification capabilities.

The collaboration includes pre-compliance testing to streamline certification cycles, ensuring robust performance in complex environments through field-grade reliability testing. Specific application scenarios highlighted include high-resolution streaming in medical settings, optimized connectivity for robotics and smart manufacturing, and reliable transmission for rugged endpoints and ProAV technologies.
