Verizon and Tillman Global Holdings reach fiber agreement to expand broadband access

Tillman Global Holdings’ Eaton Fiber to Deliver High-Speed Fiber Service to Homes Outside of Current Fios Markets

Verizon Communications Inc. and Tillman Global Holdings announced a commercial fiber agreement with Eaton Fiber LLC, an affiliate of Tillman, aimed at enhancing Verizon’s broadband capabilities. This agreement is part of Verizon's strategy to broaden its fiber service offerings to areas outside its existing Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) market footprint.

The partnership is expected to provide high-capacity fiber service to customers in new markets. This complements Verizon's ongoing fiber expansion efforts and the planned acquisition of Frontier. According to Sowmyanarayan Sampath, Executive Vice President for Verizon and CEO for Verizon Consumer, this agreement facilitates swift market entry and enhances deployment capacity while accommodating growth opportunities nationwide.

Sanjiv Ahuja, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Tillman Global Holdings, expressed satisfaction with the partnership, noting it represents a substantial expansion of their fiber operations and emphasizes a mutual commitment to nationwide infrastructure development.

Key Highlights:

  • Accelerated Market Expansion: This agreement targets new serviceable addresses, quickly broadening Verizon's fiber availability for customers accessing its high-speed broadband service.
  • Full Residential Retail Exclusivity: Verizon will serve as the exclusive retail provider of residential services over the new network during the build phase and for a designated period thereafter.
  • Third-Party Funding: Eaton Fiber will oversee the network's construction and maintenance, while Verizon will manage sales, marketing, and customer service.
