Toshiba showcases quantum-safe networks with SpeQtral and Ciena at ATxSG 2025
Toshiba Asia Pacific Predictive Twin Engine (PTE). Ltd. is set to showcase its quantum-safe network platform at Asia Tech Singapore 2025. This demonstration highlights Toshiba's collaboration with SpeQtral and Ciena to promote quantum-safe communications. The collaborative effort features quantum-safe optical encryption solutions that combine Toshiba's Multiplexed Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) technology with Ciena's high-capacity modular transport platform. The goal is to enable secure, quantum-safe data transmission for businesses.
Key features include:
- Defense-in-depth Security: Toshiba's QKD generates encryption keys immune to interception. When paired with Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), it enhances protection against Quantum Computing threats.
- Quantum-Safe Optical Encryption: Toshiba's platform integrates with Ciena's Waveserver 5, facilitating encrypted quantum-safe communications of 800 Gb/s without requiring substantial infrastructure investment.
- Quantum-Safe Communication Solutioning: SpeQtral assists in designing quantum-ready networks for telecommunications and enterprise customers, promoting secure digital infrastructure.
Matt Vesperman, Ciena's Vice President for Asia Pacific, stated, “There is a growing need to create networks that are not only faster and more adaptable, but also capable of withstanding future quantum-enabled threats.” SpeQtral's Co-Founder, Chune Yang Lum, emphasized the importance of building networks equipped for the changing threat landscape.
