SUSE has introduced new capabilities for SUSE AI Factory with NVIDIA that let organizations adopt private AI while retaining operational control, security, and governance over their systems.
A single foundation supports three roles: developers building production AI applications and autonomous agents, platform engineering teams deploying them, and enterprise IT governing them across any footprint. Private model serving through NVIDIA NIM microservices replaces per-token fees from third-party public APIs with capacity-based infrastructure investment.
SLES for NVIDIA gives AI workloads immediate access to NVIDIA's latest hardware, including NVIDIA Vera Rubin infrastructure at the core of the OpenShell Reference Architecture. Built on an SLES 16 base, the platform is designed to scale to rack-scale architectures and keep pace with NVIDIA's release cycles.
Within the OpenShell architecture, NVIDIA Vera Rubin handles model inference, NVIDIA Vera CPUs run OpenShell for agent execution, and NVIDIA BlueField-4 DPUs run a DOCA-powered NVIDIA Sentry for host-independent monitoring and in-silicon policy enforcement. Supervisor proxies inspect agent traffic continually, authorize access under defined policies, and block unauthorized network requests. Kubernetes sandboxing and API gateways operate alongside OpenShell.
The Secretariat of Finance of Guanajuato, Mexico, is testing SUSE AI Factory with NVIDIA in a proof of concept that evaluates AI workload deployment on high-performance GPU infrastructure. “Using SUSE AI Factory with NVIDIA in our environment gives us a clear path toward becoming a truly cognitive government,” said José Luis Huerta Santos, Planning and IT Architecture, Secretariat of Finance of Guanajuato.
“As autonomous AI agents and next-generation silicon advancements reshape enterprise operations, AI sovereignty becomes non-negotiable,” said Dr. Thomas Di Giacomo, chief technology and product officer at SUSE. General availability for SLES for NVIDIA is scheduled for November 2026, while SUSE demonstrates OpenShell integrations and governed MCP agentic workflows at NVIDIA GTC Berlin on October 20 to 22, 2026.
