Semperis said its creators and cast for “Midnight in the War Room” will take part in two panel discussions in Toronto. The sessions will focus on the making of the film and how human resilience figures into cybersecurity and cyber crisis response.
The panels will be held on Monday, Oct. 5 at the Cyber Resilience & Leadership Summit and on Tuesday, Oct. 7 during SecTor 2026. Semperis positioned the discussions around the film’s documentary footage and perspectives from defenders, including people involved with preparing for and responding to cyber threats.
At Cyber Resilience & Leadership Summit, Dr. Sara Rabinovitch, PhD, will moderate “Inside the War Room: Human Performance Under Cyber Crisis.” The panel will include Bill Keeler (Midnight in the War Room Co-Director), Bindi Davé (Cyber Future Foundation Senior Advisor), Val Mukherjee (Cyber Future Foundation Founder), and T. Ryan Whelan (Managing Director and Global Head of Accenture Cyber Intelligence). The session will use clips from the documentary and address performance in high-stakes environments.
At SecTor 2026, Moderator Wes Sheppard, The Tactical CISO, will moderate a Midnight in the War Room-themed discussion with Jason Rebholz (Evoke Security CEO and documentary cast member), Val Mukherjee, and Bill Keeler. The panel will cover what the filmmakers and cast uncovered, including how nation-state actors operate and how defenders respond under pressure. Dr. Rabinovitch said, “I am looking forward to welcoming cybersecurity industry leaders to Monday's Cyber Resilience & Leadership Summit to explore the making of Midnight in the War Room, a must-see film for everyone, not just cybersecurity industry professionals,” and that “It is critical to highlight the human side of cybersecurity...while at the same time acknowledging the emotional, physical, and relational toll it takes to deal with one cyber incident after another, with little fanfare, and no reprieve.” Rebholz said, “There is so much to unpack during the SecTor panel and I look forward to discussing what I learned since sitting down with the creators of the film and other observations from an evolving threat landscape,” and that “The Colonial Pipeline attack in 2021 was a turning point for me in the ransomware economy.”
Semperis described “Midnight in the War Room” as a full-length feature film exploring escalating cyber conflict between nation states, criminal groups, and defenders and CISOs, and it said the film looks beyond technical failures to the people living through cyber crises.
