SEALSQ invests in WISeSat.Space to enhance satellite capabilities and secure technology

SEALSQ Corp (NASDAQ: LAES) announced a strategic investment in WISeSat.Space, part of WISeKey International Holding Ltd, aimed at enhancing the development of satellite technology focused on post-quantum capabilities. This investment is positioned to support the expansion of WISeSat's satellite constellation and accelerate commercialization of its post-quantum-ready technology.

This move follows a new partnership between WISeSat.Space and EnduroSat, adding to existing collaborations with firms such as FOSSA Systems and SpaceX. The partnership seeks to establish a robust global network for secure communication in space.

WISeSat.Space’s current satellite constellation includes 21 LEO Constellation (Low Earth Orbit) (LEO) satellites, which complete orbits around the Earth in roughly 90 minutes, providing extensive data transmission coverage. The satellite system is being tested for advanced applications, such as device-to-device post-quantum communication.

SEALSQ’s CEO, Carlos Moreira, outlined the importance of integrating post-quantum algorithms to address the vulnerability of traditional cryptographic methods with the advancements in quantum computing. This investment emphasizes SEALSQ’s commitment to enhancing satellite security through specialized hardware integrated with Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC).

The initiative reflects a broader interest in the synergy of quantum technology and space infrastructure, capturing the attention of investors amid an increasing number of quantum-focused transactions in the tech sector.
