Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. convenes CES 2026 forum on home AI
Samsung Electronics convened leaders across industries at its CES 2026 Tech Forum to discuss smart home interoperability and why open ecosystems matter for home Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Panel organizers framed the discussion around the scale of connected living, noting more than 500 million users are part of the SmartThings community and that Samsung had more than a decade in connected living, presenting open connectivity as a way for devices and services to work together.
Speakers addressed architectures and capabilities, referencing the Edge Resource Allocator (ERA) as the next phase of home intelligence and arguing that openness rather than closed ecosystems enabled AI systems to coordinate across appliances, energy systems and safety services.
The session titled “When Everything Clicks: How Open Ecosystems Deliver Impactful AI” examined cross-industry collaboration and highlighted Samsung's work with Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB) as a first-of-its-kind example of using smart home data to deliver measurable consumer benefits.
“Home is the most personal place in our lives, so home AI must earn trust — quietly, respectfully, and with value users can feel,” said Yoonho Choi, President & Chair of the Board of the Home Connectivity Alliance and Head of Strategic Alliances at Samsung Electronics. “It's crucial to deliver tangible user benefits that make people's lives better,” said Michael Wolf, founder and editor-in-chief of The Spoon.
Samsung said it remained focused on building open ecosystems as AI became more ambient and system-wide.
