More About Stephouse Networks
Stephouse Networks operates as an internet service provider focused on delivering last‑mile connectivity using a mix of fixed wireless and wired broadband technologies in the Portland, Oregon region. The company targets residential subscribers, small and midsize businesses, and select wholesale or multi-tenant environments that require access services where traditional cable or telecom options may be limited or where alternative access models are preferred.
The core of Stephouse Networks’ offering is fixed wireless internet (network connectivity), which uses licensed or unlicensed microwave and radio links from base stations to Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), such as rooftop antennas or integrated radios. This architecture allows line‑of‑sight or near‑line‑of‑sight connections from towers and distribution points to individual buildings, delivering broadband without the need for full last‑mile fiber or copper build‑outs. The company also offers wired and fiber-based broadband (network connectivity) in specific geographies, providing more traditional Ethernet or fiber handoffs where facilities exist.
For enterprise or institutional use, Stephouse Networks’ services can function as primary access links, redundant failover connections, or connectivity for distributed locations that fall outside dense carrier footprints. Business internet plans (business connectivity) typically provide higher bandwidth tiers and business-focused service characteristics compared with residential options. These plans are designed for applications such as office connectivity, point-of-sale systems, cloud access, and Virtual Private Network (VPN) termination, where consistent throughput and predictable latency are important.
The network architecture commonly involves point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless topologies, with aggregation at network hubs that connect to upstream internet transit. Customer premises integration usually relies on Ethernet handoff from the radio or modem to customer firewalls, routers, or switches. Standard internet protocols such as Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and common routing practices are used, and services can interoperate with existing enterprise Local Area Network (LAN) and security architectures without proprietary client requirements.
Stephouse Networks also supports multi-tenant buildings, communities, and wholesale partners by providing shared wireless infrastructure and backhaul (network infrastructure). In these scenarios, the company delivers bandwidth to a central distribution point, and property managers or partners may extend connectivity within the property using wired or Wi‑Fi networks. This model aligns with enterprise and institutional needs for campus connectivity, temporary sites, or edge locations that require service turn‑up without extensive construction.
Within an enterprise IT marketplace taxonomy, Stephouse Networks aligns to categories such as network connectivity, business internet access, fixed wireless access, and regional last‑mile broadband providers. Organizations evaluating Wide Area Network (WAN) strategies, backup internet links, or connectivity for branch and remote facilities may consider services like those offered by Stephouse Networks alongside fiber, cable, and cellular options, choosing among them based on availability, bandwidth requirements, and deployment timelines.
