Rapid7 launches unified threat-informed remediation enhancements

Rapid7 has introduced enhancements to its Command Platform designed to improve the efficiency of security teams. The updates include unified threat-informed remediation capabilities, automated detection and response, and a Breach Protection Warranty. These advancements aim to streamline vulnerability management processes and support proactive efforts in addressing security threats.

Security teams face challenges due to an expanding attack surface and the complexity of managing multiple security tools. The enhanced Command Platform enables automated remediation of vulnerabilities, regardless of the source, which may include native scans or third-party tools. This capability promotes faster and more precise responses to security threats.

Craig Adams, chief product officer at Rapid7, highlighted the need for clarity and context among security teams overwhelmed with alerts. He stated, “It’s not enough to simply detect threats; teams need the context to act quickly and the confidence that issues will be resolved.” The updates aim to provide a cohesive understanding of the attack surface and intelligent automation for threat prioritization.

Key features of the enhancements include:

  • Unified Vulnerability Management Across Ecosystems: Supports third-party vulnerabilities, consolidating risk management.
  • Fully Integrated Automation into the Remediation Process: Automates notifications and manual tasks, reducing administrative burden.
  • Transparent, Trustworthy AI-Powered Triage: Offers insights into AI-driven decisions to build trust among security analysts.
  • Active Remediation With Velociraptor: Executes advanced remediation actions to minimize risk post-threat detection.
  • Breach Protection Warranty: Provides up to $1 million in coverage for managing the financial impact of a cyberattack.

Rapid7 will showcase these features at the upcoming Runtime Security Agent (RSA) Conference in San Francisco, highlighting the evolving needs in cybersecurity and the company's commitment to improving security processes.
